As many as 62 schools in the capital are in calamity free category. Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling (BPBD) and Jakarta Dept. of Education together with other stakeholders have started this program since 2014 ago.

Denny Wahyu, Chairman of Implementer of BPBD, said that of 5,000 schools in capital, 62 of them have implemented the category. It is targeted that next year all schools in the capital will be able to apply the category fully.
“Free of calamity is important to protect student and teacher during learning activity. The program also aims school to respond when disaster hit,” he said, Tuesday (1/19).
